About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah, and I am an American living in London, learning to cook French cuisine at LeCordon Bleu.

I have no prior experience in the food industry, and in fact have been working in biotech ever since graduating from college. But, dabbling in the kitchen at home has become an increasing passion of mine. And when my husband and I were asked to relocate to London for his job, I immediately knew I wanted to take the opportunity to go to culinary school. So, I traded in my white lab coat for a set of chef’s whites and a new adventure began!

The title of my blog refers to a phrase vital to kitchen dynamics that I learned on nearly the first day. Space in the kitchen is tight. And between a dozen or more eager chefs-in-training wielding razor sharp knives, pots of boiling water, and searing hot pans straight from the oven, a little etiquette is essential for survival. Although it felt silly at first, simply yelling out “Hot Pan Behind You” clears the path between you and the wash-up station in no time!

In my blog I’ll share photos of my creations, and although I can’t post the recipes I will share the successes and misfires of my experience along the way.

Enjoy, and Bon Appetit!

  1. I LOVE that you started a blog!! I’m going to be one of your regular readers. 🙂 I just need to read when I’m not hungry because now all I can think about is wanting to eat the lamb with mint and pepper sauce. Miss you!
